Time & again I see people with poor sales techniques but passion succeeding. Learn some sales skills and they fly. On the other hand I see that those without the belief who learn all the techniques consistently fail.


WHY?

Jamie Smart in the book Clarity points out that the prospects buy because of their experience during the sale. And obviously that experience directly relates to the salespersons attitude. If the salesperson is positive, clear and genuinely nurturing the prospect picks this up and reflects it back in a clarity of thought & decision making process.


NLP confirms this. It tells us that body language is the key influencer and its almost impossible to fake it when you being ingenuous.

So unless you believe in what you are selling, enjoy being in the room with a prospect, then its going to be very long and hard journey to be a success in sales.
